NHCA had a very successful work party at the Firestorm Memorial Garden yesterday, Sat. July 12.  Six of us worked hard to beautify the garden…remove dead plants and branches and pick up lots of trash along Hiller and Tunnel roads.  It looks 100% better!

Both Fred Booker and David Kessler wrote CalTrans to remove the Echium (Pride of Madera) which was encroaching  into the Tunnel bikeway below Bentley school, and by golly, they did.

Please thank our hard working NHCA Gardeners….Geri Charnin, Kevin Faulkner, Adriana Duque, JD Van der Werf, Fred Booker and Nancy Mueller.   Also “regulars”  but absent on Saturday, Cornelia Grimes, Anna Sarukhanov, Peggy Mooney and Sean Gilmore.  Together we form the CORE that have filled 440  thirty ga green waste bags, provided by our dear City…..plus 3 times UC Berkeley Project Day volunteers and 2 Chevron workdays since July 2024.

Amen!
