UC Berkeley students lent 38 hands to Gateway Emergency Demonstration Garden last Saturday, Nov 8! 19 students cleared a lot of flammable dense brush adjacent to the frame structure, and patiently pulled weeds out of the granite plaza and stone paths. They also planted several dozen daffodils donated by KOB! (Keep Oakland Beautiful) Thank you Gordon Piper for the tip!!
Cheryl and Berndt Schleifer made a generous donation to NHCA which covered 4 extra large pizzas, tangerines and drinks. Thanks JD for the donuts! The students love working with us because we feed them so well!

Thanks too to drivers: Julie Nachtwhey, Marina Swee, JD van der Werf, Miki Chan, Cornelia Grimes and yours truly. (Nancy Mueller)
